Bonucci’s retirement decision

Juventus captain Leonardo Bonucci’s decision to retire

Leonardo Bonucci, captain of the Italian national team and Juventus, announced that he will retire at the end of next season.

Announcing his decision to retire on Juventus’ YouTube account with a video, the 36-year-old said: “Wearing this shirt for 12 years was a dream come true for me. Every time I wear this shirt, my inner child stay happy. When my career ends next season, the era of Italian-style defenders and highlighting this aspect of football will also be over. I will always be proud to be named among the best defenders like Franco Baresi, Alessandro Nesta, Paolo Maldini and Fabio Cannavaro.” He used his statements.

Bonucci, who played for Juventus two terms (2010-17, 2018-23) in his career, wore the black and white shirt 500 times with the Sevilla game last week. The defender, who also plays for important Italian clubs such as Inter, Milan, Genoa and Bari, enjoyed the Serie A championship on 9 occasions (8 Juventus, 1 Inter).

Leonardo Bonucci, whose contract with Juventus will expire at the end of next season, reached the Euro 2020 (EURO 2020) trophy with Italy, where he appeared in 120 matches. (AA)
