Los Angeles Lakers eliminate the Warriors and take the lead in the series
The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the defending champion Golden State Warriors 117-112 in the American Basketball League (NBA) Western Conference semifinals, winning the first game of the series.
The NBA play-offs continued with 2 games. In the Western Conference semifinals, the Lakers took a 1-0 series lead, beating the Warriors by 5 points after a contentious fight.
Anthony Davis, star player of the Lakers, scored 30 points, 23 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks, LeBron James “double-double” with 22 points and 11 rebounds, D’Angelo Russell had 19 points and 6 assists, Dennis Schröder scored 19 points, Austin Reaves added 10 points and 5 rebounds.
Stephen Curry had 27 points and 6 rebounds, Klay Thompson 25 points, Jordan Poole 21 points and 6 assists, Andrew Wiggins 15 points and 6 rebounds, Kevon Looney 10 points and 23 rebounds for the Warriors.
The second game of the series will be played on Friday, May 5 at 04:00 CEST on the Warriors’ court.
KNICKS EQUAL TO THE SERIES
In the Eastern Conference semifinals, the New York Knicks defeated the Miami Heat 111-105 to make it 1-1 in the series.
Jalen Brunson with 30 points and 5 rebounds, Julius Randle with 25 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists, RJ Barrett with 24 points, Josh Hart with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists were the players who gave the Knicks victory.
Jimmy Butler was unable to play for the Heat due to his ankle injury. Caleb Martin scored 22 points and 8 rebounds, Gabe Vincent scored 21 points and 5 assists, Max Strus scored 17 points, Bam Adebayo scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists.
