The Euroleague announces penalties for the Real Madrid-Partizan match

The EuroLeague Independent Disciplinary Committee has announced the sanctions imposed on the Real Madrid and Partizan players who fought in the two games of the play-off quarterfinals. The Euroleague fined both teams 50,000 euros each.

Although the statement indicated that the appeal route was closed, Real Madrid player Guerschon Yabusele, who knocked down Dante Exum with a wrestling move, was suspended for 5 matches. Partizan player Kevin Punter 2, Real Madrid player Gabriel Deck and Partizan player Matthias Lessort were also banned for 1 game each.

The tension between the two basketball players after Real Madrid player Sergio Llull’s hard foul on Kevin Punter with 1 minute and 40 seconds remaining in the game turned into a brawl with the involvement of other players. Guerschon Yabusele of Real Madrid took down Dante Exum in the events where many players physically interfered with each other. After the facts, the referees decided to end the game prematurely.

Serbian representative Partizan, who won both away games, won the play-off quarter-finals with a 2-0 lead over Spain’s Real Madrid in the play-off quarter-finals. The third match of the series, where the team with three wins will advance to the Final Four, will take place in Belgrade on Tuesday, May 2, with host Partizan.
