He placed third in the marathon, his match-fixing revealed days later!
Scottish athlete Joasia Zakrzewski, who was found to be driving during part of the Great Britain Ultras marathon, was disqualified.
The match-fixing event marked the organization held on the track between the English cities of Manchester and Liverpool.
According to statements by marathon manager Wayne Drinkwater to the British press, Zakrzewski, 47, who crossed the finish line in third place in the race on April 7, was found to be cheating.
4 KM COMPLETED IN 100 SECONDS!
Drinkwater said that after completing the 4km portion of the race in 1 minute 40 seconds, an investigation was launched against Zakrzewski, adding that the competitor admitted he had driven that distance.
Emphasizing that they have applied to the Greater British Athletic Federation to initiate criminal proceedings against Joasia Zakrzewski, who was disqualified from the marathon, Wayne Drinkwater expressed his disappointment at what happened.
Completing the 2014 Commonwealth Games in 14th place, Zakrzewski also holds record times in the marathons he has run for his country. (AA)
