Real Madrid and Milan in the semifinals of the Champions League
Eliminating their rivals at the end of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, Real Madrid and Milan managed to become the first two teams to reach the semi-finals.
English Chelsea hosted the last Spanish representative champion, Real Madrid, in the rematch of the match they lost 2-0 at home. The first half of the match ended 0-0. The Madrid team went ahead 1-0 with Rodrygo’s goal in the 58th minute. Finding another goal with Rodrygo in the 80th minute, the Spanish team won the match 2-0 and made a name for themselves in the semi-finals.
Real Madrid will fight to reach the final with the winner of Manchester City-Bayern Munich in the semifinals. In this matchup, the first game was won by Manchester City 3-0.
THE DRAW WAS ENOUGH FOR MILAN
In the match between the two Italian teams, Napoli hosted Milan in the rematch of the first match, where they lost 1-0. Olivier Giroud’s penalty kick for the visiting team in the 22nd minute did not allow goalkeeper Alex Meret to score. In the 43rd minute, Milan led 1-0 in the first half with an assist from Rafael Leao and a goal from Olivier Giroud. In the 82nd minute, the goalkeeper was unable to pass Maignan from the penalty shot used by Kvaratskhelia in Napoli. In the 90+3 minute, Napoli made it 1-1 with Victor Osimhen’s goal. Since there was no goal in the remaining minutes, the fight ended 1-1 and Milan managed to reach the semifinals.
Milan will face the winner of the Benfica-Inter match in the semifinals. In this match, Inter won the first game 2-0 away.
