Chelsea entrusted to Frank Lampard until the end of the season
Chelsea, one of the English Premier League teams, announced that the legendary Frank Lampard has been appointed as manager until the end of the season.
In the statement issued by the English team, it was noted that after the departure of Graham Potter, the former soccer player and coach of the club, Lampard, will lead the team until the end of the season.
Having won four FA Cups, three Premier League, two League Cups, one UEFA Champions League and one Europa League championship with Chelsea in his football career, Lampard, 44, played in the FA Cup final during his 1.5 season as coach of his team. Lampard added 44 wins, 17 draws and 23 losses in his 84 games at the helm of Chelsea.
Club owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali said in a joint statement: “We are delighted to welcome Frank back to Stamford Bridge. Frank is a club legend. “While the long and grueling process for a permanent manager continues, we want to provide the club and our fans with a clear and consistent plan for the remainder of the season.” (AA)
