Historic offer from Saudi Arabia to José Mourinho
If the experienced Roma coach, José Mourinho, accepts the offer to lead the Saudi Arabian national team, he will become the highest paid manager in history.
Mourinho, 60, who took over at Rome in 2021, is also the target of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr team. Because the departure of the current coach Rudi García from the team at the end of the season is taken for granted. Mourinho, whose contract with Roma expires in 2024, is showing a warm approach to the interest of both Al Nassr and the Saudi Arabian National Team.
Mourinho, who has performed below expectations for Roma this season and has been disappointed, spoke to club management about the offers that came his way.
120 MILLION EUROS TO JOSE MOURINHO
According to Corriere dello Sport, José Mourinho was offered a two-year contract and an annual salary of 60 million euros for his role in the Saudi Arabian national team. The Portuguese coach will have the opportunity to terminate the contract after the first season or extend his contract until the 2026 World Cup, which will take place in the United States.
WAITING FOR A RESPONSE FROM ROME
Italian media reports claimed that Mourinho had a strong link with Roma supporters, but was unable to agree a new contract with management.
Mourinho, who wants a striker, a midfielder and a defender for the new season, has not yet been able to sit down with the Roma coaches. Mourinho, who does not want to leave the new contract at the end of the season, will study the offer from Saudi Arabia in the event of a crossover with the Roman administration.
