Finalists at the Miami Open Tennis Tournament
At the Miami Open Tennis Tournament, Jannik Sinner of Italy and Daniil Medvedev of Russia in the men’s singles, Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan and Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic in the women’s singles will meet in the final.
The semifinals of the Masters 1000 tournament held in Miami, USA have been completed.
Medvedev (4th seed) defeated Karen Khachanov (14) 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 in sets of 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 and reached the final in the men’s singles match between Russian tennis players.
The finalist of the tournament in 2021, Sinner (10), managed to eliminate the last champion, the Spanish Carlos Alcaraz. Sinner won 2-1 against the world number 1 with sets ending 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 and became Medvedev’s opponent in the final.
Rybakina (10), Indian Wells champion in women’s singles, beat world number 3 American Jessica Pegula 2-0 with complete sets of 7-6 and 6-4 and reached the final.
Kvitova (15), for her part, left her mark in the final by defeating the world number 74, the Romanian Sorana Cirstea, 2-0 with 7-5 and 6-4 sets.
The women’s singles final between Rybakina and Kvitova will be played tonight, and the men’s singles final between Sinner and Medvedev will be played tomorrow morning. (AA)
