Rodri’s reaction to Scotland football: This isn’t football, it’s bullshit!
Manchester City midfielder Rodri interpreted the opposing team’s football as “nonsense” after Spain’s 2-0 defeat by Scotland.
Goals scored by Scott McTominay in both halves lifted Scotland to victory, and made them top of EURO 2024 Qualifying Group A. Criticizing match referee Sandro Schaerer, Rodri said he couldn’t prevent the plays from the Scottish players to pass the time:
“That’s the way they play, we have to respect that, but to me it’s a bit silly, a complete waste of time. For me, this is not football. The referee should do something about it, but he remains silent. It’s a bit frustrating, but we want to win and that’s hard to do. Because they are playing for time, they lag. They have weapons. We also have weapons, and we must learn to use them next time.”

Stating that they conceded easy goals, Rodri said: “We played some good football today, but we couldn’t score. We conceded easy goals. Soccer is like that. If you concede an easy goal, you will be penalized in the end.” he used his statements.
