The experienced goalkeeper, who made just 17 appearances in the season in which he was crowned Ligue 1 champion, decided to return to Juventus next season. However, the salary he gave up for this act was his biggest regret.

“Leaving was the biggest mistake of my life. I gave up 10 million euros. They told me that Areola would play in the Champions League and I didn’t accept it. In my opinion, let whoever deserves it play. That’s why I went back to Juve. Then I regretted it because Areola was injured and they took Keylor Navas instead”.
