No support from Germany for Gianni Infantino

The German Football Federation (DFB) has announced that it will not support the re-election of FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

In the DFB statement, it was indicated that the important item on the agenda of the 73rd FIFA Congress, which will be held in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, is the election of the FIFA President, and that the only candidate in the choice is the current president of FIFA Infantino.

Stating that the DFB will not support Infantino’s re-election in Kigali, DFB president Bernd Neuendorf, whose views are included in the statement, said: “Over the past few weeks, we have not received or have received any information from FIFA. received regarding various issues: “FIFA should be much more open and transparent in its dealings with national associations.”

Stating that FIFA needs to explain how and why certain decisions are made and who is involved in these decisions for their own interests, Neuendorf stated that this is not always the case recently.

Neuendorf said there was a constructive exchange of views on controversial issues between the federations of some European countries and the FIFA administration, adding that he hoped this would improve future cooperation. (AA)
