Anthony Davis will miss the Lakers game against Thunder with a stress injury in his right foot

Anthony Davis will not play Wednesday night’s Lakers game in Oklahoma City due to a stress injury to his right foot, the team said.

Davis had 28 points, 19 rebounds and five blocks in a 121-109 loss to the Grizzlies Tuesday in Memphis.

The next morning, Davis was listed as “out” by the Lakers for the Oklahoma City game, along with LeBron James (sore right foot) and D’Angelo Russell, who missed the final two games with a sprained right ankle.

Davis missed 20 games this season due to a leg spur and a stress injury in his right foot before returning to the lineup on January 25. Since then, he has only missed one game, a 121-104 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on January 30. It was the first of two straight games for the Lakers and their second of three games in four nights.

James will miss his second game in a row with his right foot injury and many more could follow.

“He’s not coming back anytime soon,” Davis said of James after the Memphis game.

“So we can’t feel sorry for ourselves. We can’t hang our heads and say, ‘Oh, we miss Bron.’ We have to go out and compete.”
