Ghana to retire Atsu’s jersey
The Ghana Football Federation (GFA) announced that it will retire the national number 7 jersey in memory of Christian Atsu, Ghanaian football player for Atakaş Hatayspor, who lost his life in the Kahramanmaraş earthquakes.
Eastern Regional Football Association president Linford Boadu said on a radio show that the federation will retire the number 7 jersey, which it wears for the national team, in memory of Atsu.
Noting that the earthquake events in Turkey were harrowing, he also stated that Atsu gave everything to his homeland.
Atsu lost his life under the rubble of the residence that was destroyed in the Antakya district of Hatay in the Kahramanmaraş earthquakes. (AA)
