Ghana to retire Atsu’s jersey

The Ghana Football Federation (GFA) announced that it will retire the national number 7 jersey in memory of Christian Atsu, Ghanaian football player for Atakaş Hatayspor, who lost his life in the Kahramanmaraş earthquakes.

Eastern Regional Football Association president Linford Boadu said on a radio show that the federation will retire the number 7 jersey, which it wears for the national team, in memory of Atsu.

Noting that the earthquake events in Turkey were harrowing, he also stated that Atsu gave everything to his homeland.
