Decision made by Gareth Southgate in England
English coach Gareth Southgate will remain in charge of the England team until the end of Euro 2024 (EURO 2024).
Allegations that England, who said goodbye to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in the quarter-finals, will not be able to go their way with Southgate, who has a contract until December 2024, have come to an end.
Mark Bullingham, the top manager of the English Football Association (FA), said in a statement to the country’s press that the 52-year-old will continue to lead the national team, saying: “I am happy to announce that we will continue our journey with Gareth Southgate. Southgate will also lead our team at EURO 2024.” he said he.
Under the direction of Southgate, where he has been coach since 2016, England were eliminated in the semifinals of the 2018 World Cup, and reached the final of EURO 2020, which was postponed a year due to the pandemic, reaching the most successful level in the history of the tournament. (AA)
