Defending champions France are back in the quarter-finals!

Defending champions France crossed the barrier of England

England and France met in the last quarterfinal of the 2022 World Cup. Last World Cup champion France won the fight at Al Bayt Stadium 2-1 and advanced to the semifinals. The European giant will face Morocco in the semifinals on Wednesday.

The defending champions took a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute with an excellent goal from Tchouameni from outside the penalty area. England overcame the wall of Lloris, who could not transfer in the fluid game, from a penalty; Kane leveled the match at 1-1 at 54. France retook the lead with Giroud’s header as they were knocked out of the game. England hoped to equalize with a second penalty in the 84th minute, but the British were very angry when Kane sent the ball over the post.

EXCELLENT GOAL BY TCHOUAMENI

In the big match, the curtain on the goal opened with a goal by young Real Madrid star Tchouameni in the 17th minute. France settled into England’s midfield from the right wing with serial passes. Tchouameni, who received the ball from Griezmann, controlled the ball and sent the ball into a corner where goalkeeper Pickford could not reach from far and put France 1-0 up.

WIN THE PENALTY IN ENGLAND 52

Saka, who brought the ball from the right wing in England, was left on the ground with the intervention of Tchouameni after the return with Bellingham. The referee pointed to the white dot at the position right in front of him.

Heading the ball, Harry Kane put Tottenham teammate Hugo Lloris in the wrong corner in the 54th minute and led England to a 1-1 draw.

With this goal, Kane scored his 53rd goal in his 80th cap, equaling Wayne Rooney’s record.

THIS TIME, GIROUD HAS BEGUN

Falling out of the game after England found 1-1 down, France took the 2-1 lead with Giroud, the top scorer in national team history, in the 78th minute. Griezmann, also setting up the opener, he made an assist from the left flank, and the Milan striker put France ahead 2-1 with a header off Maguire.

ENGLAND WIN THE 2ND PENALTY

After Theo Hernández’s shoulder intervention from behind Mount in the 80th minute, the English players expected a penalty. The referee observed the position on the screen with the notice from the VAR room and whistled the second penalty for England.

HARRY KANE MISSES THE PENALTY

Kane, who took the ball to take the penalty in minute 84, could not send the ball into the net this time. Kane lobbed the ball home from above and missed the chance to lead England to a 2-2 draw.
