World Cup atmosphere heats up in Qatar
Fans showed great interest in the first group stage matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup held in Qatar.
The high audience rating of the competitions held in the first 5 days of the tournament, which was held for the first time in a Middle Eastern country, drew attention. In 16 games played in 8 groups, the public filled 94 percent of the stands.
In the tournament where more than 3 million tickets were sold, the highest number of spectators was reached in the Brazil-Serbia match so far. 88,103 fans watched the game played at the Lusail Stadium, where the champion will also be determined.
These figures showed that the 2022 World Cup has overcome its lull in the early days and football fans are already in the mood for the cup.
98 THOUSAND PEOPLE VISITED IN 1 DAY
Fans, who came to Qatar for the World Cup, enjoy the matches without feeling the hot air and humidity of the stadiums with the first air conditioning function in football history.
Fans from many countries show great interest in the festival grounds and at matches. Notably, 98,000 fans visited the FIFA Fan Festival at Al Bidda Park in one day.
Free concerts are organized for fans who can watch the games on a giant screen in festival areas set up at many points. Fans in these areas have the opportunity to participate in various activities for free.
EXCITED SURPRISE RESULTS
In the first 2 days of the organization, when Qatar and Iran were unable to show any field presence against their opponents, calls for the digital age chat and discussion environment to decrease to 24, contrary to the increase of 48 teams in the Cup of the world. They weren’t late.
As these discussions heated up, Saudi Arabia under French coach Herve Renard delivered the first big upset of the cup by beating one of the cup favorites Argentina 2-1.
This victory had a great impact. The next day, Japan continued the outing of Asian countries by beating Germany, the team that saw the most cup finals, 2-1 in the game they fell behind. Finally, Iran added another game to the winning streak of the Asian countries by beating Wales.
Contrary to the past, the African teams have not been able to show much of a presence so far. Cameroon, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal and Tunisia could not experience the joy of victory in the first games they played in the organization held in Qatar. Among these teams, Cameroon, Ghana and Senegal were defeated, while Tunisia and Morocco each got one point. The only team that scored a goal was Ghana.
In the groups, especially in the matches of the African, Latin American and Far Eastern teams, the stadium and the stands become a carnival area. The atmosphere of the matches regardless of the score is very different.
