Half of the World Cup is over
The second group stage matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, hosted by Qatar, have come to an end.
In the championship where 32 teams competed in eight groups, the teams that managed to make their mark in the round of 16 were France, Brazil and Portugal. Two teams, Qatar and Canada, who were unable to score at the end of the second games, said goodbye to the tournament.

ONE RED OUT IN 32 GAMES
Only 1 red card was shown at the end of the second matches. Wales goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey sat out the game with a red card in the 86th minute of his team’s 2-1 loss to Iran.
The number of yellow cards shown so far in the tournament has been recorded at 111. The team with the most yellow cards was Saudi Arabia. The Saudi players were penalized with 8 yellow cards.
SURPRISE RESULTS ATTRACT ATTENTION
There were also surprising results in the group stage matches in Qatar.
Saudi Arabia gave the first big upset of the tournament. Against Argentina, one of the great candidates for the championship, Saudi Arabia closed the first half with a 1-0 deficit and defeated their opponent 2-1 with the goals they found in the second half of the game.
After Saudi Arabia, Japan achieved a historic victory. The Japanese closed the first half with a 1-0 win against Germany, one of the experienced teams in the tournament. With the goals scored in the second half, Japan gained a 2-1 lead over their strong opponent.
One of the notable results in Qatar was achieved by Morocco, the representative of North Africa. Morocco defeated Belgium, which came out on top with its strong squad, with a score of 2-0.
GERMANY LAST RANK
One of the strongest teams in the tournament, Germany remained in last place after the second games. With one point, Germany lost to Japan in the first game and drew with Spain in the second game.
