Piqué’s farewell from Barcelona

On matchday 13 of the Spanish Football League (LaLiga), Barcelona defeated Almería 2-0 in the match played on the pitch.

In the game, the most important detail was the end of the professional football career of Gerard Piqué, one of the mythical names of the team, who has been playing in Barcelona for 15 years. Gerard Piqué, who took the field in the first 11 as captain of the Catalan team, was replaced by Andreas Christensen in the 83rd minute and was removed from the match at Camp Nou to the applause of 90,000 fans in the stands.

Piqué, who played his 616th game in Barcelona and won 30 trophies, became the fifth player who played the most games in the club’s history.

A video about Piqué’s career was shown at the Camp Nou stadium, while all the Barcelona footballers went out to warm up with “Piqué” on their backs and “Siempre 3” (Piqué’s jersey number) on their chests. At the end of the match, a special farewell was held for Piqué at the stadium. Gerard Piqué was noted to be unable to hold back his tears during the farewell ceremony.
