Congressman in Prop. 47 revision initiative violated campaign finance law, says former FEC chairman

who is up for re-election this year, has requested and spent congressional funds

the statutory limit of $5,000 in support of the anti-crime ballot measure

to reform Proposition 47, which reduces some drug and theft crimes to felonies. Kiley He spent $28,000 on petitions and postage, according to the complaint, but Ravel claims that is “likely not the full extent” of his financial support.

Kiley’s team did not respond to The Times’ request for comment.
