The 2024 Republican presidential candidate is accused of fraudulently inflating the value of his real estate to get better terms on loans and insurance. He’s the last

charged in the case to testify. His daughter Ivanka Trump, who is expected to testify on Wednesday, is not a party in the case.

Trump wore a blue suit and light blue tie and was sworn in before a packed courtroom of journalists

public. Court officials walked the aisles to ensure the ban on photos and videos was enforced.

Although Trump faces multiple lawsuits, the public is expected to have few opportunities to see the former president testify. Judge Arthur Engoron briefly allowed photographers to enter the courtroom to take pictures of Trump at the defense table before he was called to testify.

Trump faces two federal criminal cases that are not expected to be televised. One in Washington, DC,

That provision expired after the national public health emergency ended in May. THREATS On Friday, Engoron silenced Trump’s lawyers as they discussed his communications with staff threatening “serious sanctions” for violations. Engoron said he was “inundated with hundreds” of intimidating and threatening phone calls. Since the trial began, phone calls, voicemails, emails, letters and packages have flooded into his rooms. On October 3, Engoran imposed a silence order banning Trump from making statements about his staff after Trump criticized his clerk on Truth Social.
