that will determine the size of the fine, as much as $250 million, for overestimating the value of assets to get better loan terms.
That’s possible, he said, as he greeted cheering supporters at a

Store. It is a shame. Everything about [New York City] is rigged. It’s all rigged. This whole country has been manipulated.
New York Attorney General Letitia James has accused Trump, his company and his two adult sons of exaggerating the value of their assets. The judge in the case, Arthur Engoron, on Tuesday found Trump fraudulently liable for overstating his assets in financial statements and stripping him and other executives of control of the companies.
Trump did not respond to questions about whether he plans to testify, but lashed out at the judge and James. James said this week that Trump is on the list of possible witnesses in the case.
Trump made the comments to reporters Friday afternoon after a raucous, hour-and-a-half speech at the California Republican Party convention in Anaheim.
Asked about Gen. Mark Milley’s comments Friday at the retirement ceremony that he is loyal to the Constitution and not a wannabe dictator, Trump repeated criticism he leveled last week against the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, drawing widespread condemnation amid fears that he was inciting violence.
Trump had suggested in a social media post last week that Milley should be executed for making back-channel calls to a Chinese general in the final months of Trump’s presidency as he tried to quell Chinese fears of potential conflict and instability.
It’s really treacherous. If you look at what he said to China, he’s either stupid or it’s treason, Trump said. What he said against China should never be allowed.
Milley told CBS News this week that he was taking steps to protect his family.
Trump offered his condolences to the family of Senator Dianne Feinstein, who died early Friday morning.
Well, it’s a shame. She was a nice woman, Trump said. I actually knew her quite well. We had different beliefs, but we knew her quite well. That’s why we wish her family all the best.
Asked if he would like to run against the governor of California. Gavin Newsom in next year’s presidential election, Trump responded: I would love it.
What could be better than Biden, but I would love Newsom if he can do that, he added. I think [President] Biden is trying to limp along and get there. But it could be Newsom, it could be any of three or four other people.
Newsom has repeatedly said he has no plans to run for president in 2024.
