If a picture is worth a thousand words, the police photo of a former president is apparently worth more than seven million dollars.

The police photo of President Trump, taken as he was captured last week at Georgia’s Fulton County Jail on his fourth criminal charge, sparked an explosion in sales toward his presidential re-election campaign, a spokesman said.

Trump’s campaign took advantage of the historic photo and capitalized on its unique earning potential to promote a range of products plastered with the photo. The campaign raised $4.18 million on Friday, a record one-day sales, Trump senior adviser Jason Miller confirmed Monday. According to his campaign and reporting by Politico, Trump had raised $7.1 million by Saturday night.

It’s an impressive catch and representative of the support President Trump has across the country, Miller told The Times.

The Times cannot independently verify the totals until the campaign reports its earnings to the Federal Election Commission. The next quarterly report will be published in October. 15

Trump gets trial date of March 4 in federal case over attempts to overturn 2020 election

Trump’s police photo was released Thursday afternoon shortly after he left the Fulton County Jail. Minutes later, his campaign website uploaded a slew of products featuring the image, including posters, mugs and drink boxes with prices ranging from a $12 bumper sticker to a $34 T-shirt.

Each item has the slogan Never surrender! an ironic title, as the mugshot was taken as Trump surrendered to local authorities.

donald trump jr. also promoted a line of products featuring his father’s police photo.

To be clear, all profits from this on my web store will be donated to the Legal Defense Fund to fight the tyranny and madness we see ahead of us, he wrote on Xthe social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

Trump is the first former US president to be criminally charged and have his police photo taken. Anticipation for the historic photo peaked Thursday, with the hashtag #TrumpMugshot already trending online before the photo was released. Trump even returned to X on Thursday for the first time since January 2021 to post the photo of his steel can and promote his campaign website.

Fulton County Dist. atty Fani Willis sued Trump and 18 others two weeks ago for involvement in a conspiracy to undermine the results of the 2020 presidential election. All 19 defendants filed suit last week, including former attorneys for the president Rudolph W. Giuliani and John Eastman, as well as his former chief of staff, Mark Meadows.

Willis began the investigation after a recording was released in February 2021 of Trump telling Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger during a January 2, 2021 phone call that he had 11,780 votes, enough to win in Georgia. Trump has insisted that he acted appropriately as president in making the call.

Trump also faces felony charges in connection with trying to stay in office after losing the 2020 election. The federal judge in that case has set his trial date for March 4, the day before the Super Tuesday primary.
