Limburg is the first province of the Netherlands to have a new coalition. The council is made up of the BBB, CDA, VVD, PvdA and SP parties, which together account for 26 of the states’ 47 seats. Limburg is the first province where the BoerBurgerBewegingin is on the board.
The presentation will take place on Friday evening in Huys Kaldenbroeck, a 14th-century national monument near the North Limburg village of Lottum on the outskirts of Grubbenvorst. The names of the new MEPs will also be announced.
Limburg is the first province to reach a coalition agreement, 86 days after the provincial elections on March 15. Talks are still ongoing in all other provinces, although Flevoland and Drenthe also say they are close to an agreement.
