Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg Sues Rep. Jim Jordan on Trump impeachment inquiry

Republican of a transparent campaign to intimidate and attack him for his persecution of former President Trump.

Bragg, a Democrat, asks a judge to invalidate subpoenas made by Jordan, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee

or intends to release as part of an investigation into

the

Bragg’s handling of the Trump case.

In recent weeks, the Judiciary Committee has issued a subpoena to testify against former prosecutor, Mark Pomerantz, who previously oversaw the Trump investigation. The commission also requested documents and testimony about the case from Bragg and his office. Bragg declined those requests.

The House Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing in Manhattan on Monday about crime in New York City and what it is

claims are described as

Bragg’s pro-crime, anti-victim policy. However, the DA’s office points to statistics showing that violent crime in Manhattan has fallen since Bragg took office in January 2022.

Bragg said in his lawsuit that he is taking legal action in response to an unprecedentedly brutal and unconstitutional attack by members of Congress on an ongoing criminal prosecution and investigation of former President Donald J. Trump in New York State.

A request for comment from Jordan was not immediately answered.
