There will be no vote this week on the indictment of Trump by the New York grand jury

The Manhattan grand jury that has heard testimony about hush money paid on behalf of Donald Trump will not retake that investigation this week, meaning a possible vote on an indictment will not take place until next week at the earliest, two people familiar with the case said Tuesday.
The panel met Monday, and a longtime Trump friend and potential star witness in the investigation was seen leaving the building where the grand jury was meeting.
The grand jury met regularly on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, but held no session last Wednesday and met last Thursday for other unrelated matters.
Trump himself has boosted expectations that an indictment could be near by posting on his social media platform that he expected to be arrested soon. His representatives later said they received no indication of the timing from Manhattan prosecutors.

The Manhattan district attorney’s office, which is leading the investigation, has taken several steps that indicate it could be nearing completion, including inviting Trump to testify.
The people who confirmed that no additional action related to Trump was expected this week were not authorized to speak publicly about classified grand jury proceedings and did so on condition of anonymity. A message left at the district attorney’s office was not immediately returned.
NBC News was the first to report the development.
