Trump welcome back to YouTube related articles

Former US President Donald Trump’s YouTube account has been unblocked from the video platform, parent company Alphabet has announced. The ban was introduced two years ago after the attack on the Capitol by supporters of the politician.

The measure was imposed because Trump had incited violence, according to the video platform, which violates the user’s terms.

“As of today, the account named Donald J. Trump is no longer restricted and videos can be uploaded again,” YouTube said in a response. “We assessed the likelihood of continued real-world violence, while also factoring in the need to enable voters to hear all major national candidates equally ahead of the election.”

Assault on the Capitol

Trump supporters entered the House of Representatives in Washington on January 6, 2021. The then president had called on the people to oppose the presidential election results. Not only YouTube, but other social media platforms have blocked Trump accounts as well. Facebook and Instagram restored his account last month. He was allowed back on Twitter in November of last year. Trump himself founded the social media platform Truth Social in late 2021.
