Inflation in the eurozone was 2.4 percent in November

The Eurozone Consumer Price Index (CPI) was announced in November at 2.4 percent annually.

The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) published advance inflation data for the Euro Zone for November.

According to the data, annual inflation in the eurozone, which was 2.9 percent in October, stood at 2.4 percent in November. The CPI decreased 0.5 percent in November compared to the previous month.

Market expectations were that annual inflation in the eurozone would be 2.7 percent in October, but it is noteworthy that the data was lower than market expectations.

THE HIGHEST INFLATION IS IN FOOD, ALCOHOL AND TOBACCO

Looking at the main components of inflation, the highest annual inflation occurred in food, alcohol and tobacco products at 6.9 percent. While food was followed by services with 4 percent and non-energy industrial products with 2.9 percent, energy products decreased by 11.5 percent.

According to EU-compatible data, inflation in November was 6.9 percent in Slovakia, 5.5 percent in Croatia, 4.9 percent in Austria, 4.5 percent in Slovenia, 4 .1 percent in Estonia and 4.1 percent in France, 3.8 percent, 3.2 percent in Spain, 3 percent in Greece, 2.3 percent in Germany, 0.7 percent in Italy and -0.7 percent in Belgium.
