Unemployment in the eurozone remained stable in October

Unemployment in the eurozone remained at 6.5 percent in October.

The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) published October unemployment data for the European Union (EU) and the Euro Zone.

According to the data, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the EU, which was 6 percent in September, remained unchanged in October.

The unemployment rate in the eurozone, which was 6.5 percent in September, remained stable in October.

The unemployment rate was determined in October last year at 6.6 percent in the euro zone and 6.1 percent in the EU.

UNEMPLOYMENT RATES BY COUNTRY

According to EU-compatible data, the unemployment rate was 12 percent in Spain, 8 percent in Sweden, 7.8 percent in Italy, 7.3 percent in France and Finland in October.

While the number of unemployed in the EU was 13 million 171 thousand in October, 11 million 134 thousand of them were in the euro zone.

In October, the number of unemployed young people under 25 years of age was estimated at 2 million 881 thousand in the EU and 2 million 380 thousand in the eurozone. The youth unemployment rate was measured at 14.8 percent in the EU and 14.9 percent in the eurozone. (AA)
