Investigation on imports of solar panels from 5 countries
The Communiqué on Prevention of Unfair Competition in Imports prepared by the Ministry of Commerce came into force after its publication in the Official Gazette.
With the statement, on the import of goods defined as “photovoltaic cells combined in a module or arranged in panels” (solar panels) from Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Croatia and Jordan, the Turkish Section of the International Solar Energy Society ( GÜNDER ), Sunlego Enerji Sistemleri San. and Tic. As a result of the application submitted by AŞ and Kalyon Güneş Teknolojileri Üretim AŞ, the procedures and principles of the investigation against the ineffectiveness of the measures were determined.
In the statement, which included the conclusions on the neutralization of the measures, it is stated that the share of these 5 countries in total imports of solar panels increased from 56.3 percent in 2020 in value terms to 97.8 percent in the period of 9 months. of 2023.
As a result of the investigation, the Unfair Import Competition Assessment Board decided to open an investigation into the ineffectiveness of measures relating to the importation of the product in question originating in or leaving Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Croatia and Jordan. (AA)
