Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality demanded a 48 percent increase in water consumption
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) proposed a 48 percent increase in water at the General Assembly of Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (ISKI) to be held tomorrow.
With the approval of IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu, a letter containing İSKİ’s water sales and waste water disposal tariff proposals, the draft analytical budget for 2024, the investment program for 2024 and the performance program for 2024.
The fee increase proposal received by the IMM Assembly was sent to the Fee Commission for review.
In the proposal, with a 48 percent increase, the current price of 20.62 lira in the first stage for housing from 0 to 15 cubic meters will be reduced to 30.54 lira, in the second stage the price of 29.68 liras for up to 30 cubic meters Cubic meters will be reduced to 43.95 liras, and in the third stage, for 31 cubic meters and more, it was proposed that the price per cubic meter should be 40.42 liras, but it should be 59.85 lire.
In the proposal, it was suggested that the price of 54.03 lira in the first stage between 0 and 40 cubic meters be increased to 79.98 lira, and the price of 62.50 lira in the second stage of more than 41 cubic meters will be increased to 92.52 lire.
In the proposal in question, it was requested that the rate increase to be applied come into force on the date of approval and that the rate be updated monthly in accordance with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate announced each month by the Institute. Statistics of Turkey (TUIK).
