Eurozone construction output rose in September

Eurozone construction output rose in September

The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) published seasonally adjusted data on construction production for the European Union (EU) and the Euro Zone for September.

Consequently, construction output in the euro area increased by 0.4 percent in September compared to August. Construction output decreased by 0.3 percent compared to September 2022.

Construction output in the EU increased by 0.5 percent in September compared to the previous month and 0.1 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

COUNTRIES WITH HIGHEST INCREASE

Among EU countries, the largest increase in construction output in September compared to the previous month was recorded in Slovenia with 7.4 percent, Poland with 3.6 percent and Slovakia with 2. 3 percent. The largest declines were recorded in Hungary and Romania with 1.9 percent, Portugal with 1.2 percent and Austria with 0.9 percent.

On an annual basis, construction output increased by 32.1 percent in Slovenia, 13.8 percent in Poland and 10.9 percent in Romania, while in Finland it increased by 6.2 percent, a 6.1 percent in Spain and Hungary. (AA)
