THE COST OF FREE NATURAL GAS IS 2 BILLION 470 MILLION
Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated that within the framework of the free request for natural gas, 2 billion 470 million 636 thousand 833 TL were paid from the Ministry’s budget from April 24, 2023 until the end of the July period.

Responding to the proposal, Bayraktar said:
“For system usage fees within the scope of the first bill accruals from April 24, 2023 to May 31, 2023, an additional appropriation of 1 billion 812 million lira has been allocated to the budget allocated to our Ministry by the Central Government Budget Law for 2023. and from this appropriation payments of 1,000 million 811 million 722 thousand 315.34 liras have been made.
A total of 6.1 billion lira has been allocated to the open plan for “Expenses related to the provision of free natural gas” in Law No. 7457 on Amending the Central Government Budget Law for 2023 and its related annexes .
Payments for the implementation period that extends until 2024 will be made from the appropriation assigned by the Central Government Budget Law for 2024. “In addition, the amounts for the June and July periods for fees for use of the system corresponding to the consumption of natural gas of up to 25 cubic meters amount to 658 million 914 thousand 518.50 liras in total”.
Consequently, in the April-July period, 2.47 billion lira were paid for free natural gas from the Ministry’s budget. (AA)
CHP NATURAL GAS INCREASE WARNING
Ahmet Akın, vice president of the CHP, criticized the government’s economic policy and said: “According to the World Food Price Index of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, food prices around the world decreased. 10.7 percent in the last year.
