Support with water money for university students

With the decision made by Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, water fee will not be charged to university students during the 2023-2024 academic year.

In accordance with the decision made earlier, the students, who have paid 50 percent of the water they have used so far, made the decision at the November Ordinary General Assembly of the affiliated General Directorate of Water and Sewerage Administration (BASKİ) to Balıkesir. Municipality, at the proposal of the Mayor of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, Yücel Yılmaz, so water will be used free of charge throughout the academic year.

Announcing that they gave a 15 percent discount on water to the citizens of Balıkesir, Yılmaz stated that they also paid the water debts of citizens who received support from social assistance, disabled people, veterans and families of martyrs, and that , as a Metropolitan Municipality, will continue to pay the 1st stage water bills of earthquake victims until December 31, 2024.
