The poverty line reached 45 thousand TL
DİSK United Metal-İş Class (BİSAM) Research Center announced the report on the poverty and hunger line for the period of October 2023.
Consequently, starting in October, the hunger limit to cover the monthly cooking expenses of a family of four will be 12,928 Turkish liras; The poverty line, which includes expenses for education, health, housing, entertainment, heating and transportation, reached 44 thousand 718 TL.
According to BİSAM data, in September the hunger line was 12 thousand 612 TL and the poverty line was 43 thousand 623 TL.
In BİSAM’s written statement, it was stated that the daily cost of a healthy and balanced diet exceeds 430 TL.
THE MONTHLY EXPENDITURE ON FOOD FOR A YOUNG PERSON IS 3,639 TL
The monthly equivalent of food that an adult man must consume to maintain a healthy and balanced diet is 3,538 TL.
This value was 3,387 TL for an adult woman, 3,639 TL for a young man aged 15 to 18 and 2,365 TL for a child aged 4 to 6 years.
138 TL PER DAY IS SPENT ON MILK AND DAIRY PRODUCTS
According to BİSAM calculations, the milk and dairy products group will constitute the highest cost group in daily expenses in September 2023, with a required expenditure of 138.16 lira.
The minimum spending amount for the meat, chicken and fish group was highlighted at 81.94 TL.
While daily spending on vegetables and fruits reaches 89.38 liras; The required expenditure on bread was 33.38 lire per day and on fat and oil, 23.99 lire.
