A proposal to create a family and youth fund was presented to Parliament.
The AKP today presented its bill on the establishment of a fund for families and youth to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
The proposal, which consists of nine articles, including execution and enforcement, provides for the creation of the Family and Youth Fund attached to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.
In the general justification of the proposal, the objective is summarized as “Through the fund, increase the effectiveness of the support programs currently implemented, diversify and expand services and contribute to the strengthening of the family institution.”
SUPPORT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE WHO GET MARRIED
In this sense, the aim is to “preserve the dynamic and young structure of the population” and “strengthen the foundations of the family institution by supporting young people who will get married.”
The fund’s resources will come from 20 percent of revenues from oil, natural gas and mineral rights. In addition, it is expected that 10 percent of the income from existing funds and from new funds to be established will be transferred to the fund.
The President will also have the authority to change these rates with the proposal.
The fund is expected to be exempt from corporate taxes. (REUTERS)
