Bread price increased for the second time in three months in Afyonkarahisar
The Afyonkarahisar Chamber of Merchants and Artisans Union decided to increase the price of bread. Consequently, 250 grams of bread sold for 6 lira increased by 25 percent and became 7.5 TL.
“WE WERE obligated”
Cengiz Üstün, president of the Union of Chambers of Merchants and Craftsmen, made a statement in this regard.
Speaking about the increase in the price of bread three months ago, Üstün stated that the costs have increased a lot and said:
“Bread costs 7.5 TL. We reduced it to 30 TL per kilo. But here’s the thing. We had the cheapest bread in Türkiye. Costs have really increased. There was state support, but that also ended. “We had to do this.”
3 months ago there was an increase in the price of bread in the city and the price of bread increased from 4.5 lira to 6 lira. Thus, bread prices, which reached 7.5 lira with the last increase, increased by 66 percent in three months.
IT WILL BE SOLD FOR 5 LIRAS IN PUBLIC BREAD BUFFETS
On the other hand, AKP Afyonkarahisar Mayor Mehmet Zeybek announced that after the decision to sell bread for 7.5 TL, bread produced by the municipality’s Halk Ekmek will be sold for 5 TL.
