BİSAM: Hunger limit is 12 thousand 612 TL, poverty line is 43 thousand 623 TL
DİSK United Metal-İş Class (BİSAM) Research Center announced the report on the poverty and hunger line for September 2023.
According to the calculation made by BİSAM, the monthly food expenditure that a family of four must make to maintain a healthy and balanced diet is 12,612 TL for September 2023.
According to the results of the calculation based on household consumption expenditures above the hunger threshold, the poverty threshold was calculated at 43,623 lira.
The monthly equivalent of food that an adult man must consume to maintain a healthy and balanced diet is 3,451 TL. This value was 3,297 TL for an adult woman, 3,549 TL for a young man aged 15 to 18 and 2,314 TL for a child aged 4 to 6 years.
THE HIGHEST COST IS IN DAIRY PRODUCTS
In daily expenses, the milk and dairy products group formed the highest cost group in September 2023 with a required expense of 138.16 lira.
The minimum spending amount for the meat, chicken and fish group was 81.94 lira. Daily spending on vegetables and fruits reached 89.38 liras.
While the amount spent on bread was 33.38 lire per day, fat and oil had to be spent on 23.99 lire. It was necessary to spend 8.97 lire on eggs and 11.53 lire on sugar, honey, jam and molasses.
