The budget had a deficit of 129.2 billion Turkish lira in September
The Ministry of Treasury and Finance announced the results of the execution of the September budget.
Consequently, the central budget had a deficit of 129.2 billion Turkish liras in September. While budget revenues amounted to 441.2 billion Turkish lira in September, budget expenditures were 570.4 billion Turkish lira.
While budget expenditures in September increased by 99.8 percent compared to the same month last year, the increase in budget expenditures was 113.2 percent year-on-year.
The central government’s primary balance had a deficit of 58.5 billion lira in September. Furthermore, 14 billion TL were transferred from the central budget to BOTAÅž in September.
DEFICIT OF 512.6 BILLION TL IN THE FIRST 9 MONTHS
In the January-September period, the central budget had a total deficit of 512.6 billion Turkish liras.
In the January-September period, total revenue amounted to 3.43 trillion Turkish lira and total expenses amounted to 3.95 trillion Turkish lira. In the same period, non-interest budget expenditures amounted to 3.4 trillion Turkish lira and the non-financial deficit was 41.7 billion Turkish lira.
TAX REVENUES
In September, tax revenues amounted to 386.2 billion Turkish liras and non-tax revenues of the general budget amounted to 46.608 billion Turkish liras.
Tax collection in September 2023 increased by 122.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 386.2 billion TL.
The tax revenue realization rate, according to the budget estimate, was 7.9 percent in 2022 and 9 percent in 2023.
