66 percent increase in fish prices in 5 days
The fact that fishermen cannot go to sea in Trabzon due to the rain and wind that have hit in recent days has been reflected in the prices of fish on the stalls.
At the stalls in the Moloz area, in the Ortahisar district, anchovies are sold at 70-100 lira per kilo, sea bass at 140, sea bream at 175, whiting at 100 lira, mackerel at 75, horse mackerel. at 50 liras, trout and bonito at 125 liras per kilo, and salmon at 150 liras per kilo.
Fisherman Emin Avcı said that fish was scarce due to bad weather and this was reflected in the prices.
Avcı stated that prices vary from day to day: “Citizens currently demand cheap horse mackerel. 3-5 days ago, anchovies were bought for 50-60 lire per kilogram. Now the weather is cold and when the sea water cools, fish prices go down and fish becomes plentiful. “We hope our hope lies in that direction,” he said.
Süleyman Çakır claimed that local anchovy was in short supply and said: “Yesterday local anchovy was available, but today there is none. It is expensive because it is scarce. It blows, but it does not arrive due to the weather conditions. “If the sea cools, anchovies will be plentiful,” he said.
