Fine of 54.5 million Turkish lira for misleading real estate advertising

Fine of 54.5 million Turkish lira for 545 people who shared misleading advertisements in residences

The Ministry of Commerce reported that a fine of 54 million 500 thousand liras was imposed on 545 people who shared unregistered, manipulative and manipulation-oriented advertising in the real estate sector.

In the Ministry’s statement it was indicated that investigations continue into all types of actions and events that could alter the element of balance in the market.

THEY HAVE INCREASED BY 100 PERCENT OR MORE

The statement examines property sale ads placed on advertising platforms. In real estate sales advertisements published since September 1, 545 people who disrupted the market and free competition and victimized consumers by increasing the price of 100 percent or more during the period in which the advertisement was published, were subjected to the following article in Article 14 of the Regulations on Real Estate Trade: “Those who engage in real estate trade are disloyal and disloyal.” “It has been decided to impose a fine of 100 thousand liras per person, a total of 54 million 500 thousand liras, for activities contrary to the provision of ‘illegal behavior and commercial activities’.”

The statement highlighted that the Ministry evaluated all possibilities that could victimize citizens and the necessary investigations were immediately initiated.

The statement stressed that the Ministry will continue to use all its arguments by sectors and topics to prevent citizens from being affected by speculative price increases and establish a fair and competitive environment in the market. (AA)
