Japan-Australia LNG Cooperation
At the Fifth Japan-Australia Ministerial Economic Dialogue Meeting held in Melbourne, Australia, cooperation in the supply of energy resources was reached.
Consequently, Japan and Australia reached an agreement to ensure a stable supply of energy resources such as liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The meeting was attended by the Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Nishimura Yasutoshi, and the Australian Minister of Trade and Tourism, Don Farrel.
In his statement to the press after the meeting, NiÅŸimura said that they reached an agreement with Australia to provide a reliable investment environment in this field with the stable supply of energy resources such as LNG.
COOPERATION ALSO IN CRITICAL METALS
Minister Nishimura stated that a consensus was reached to further expand cooperation in the sector to include resources such as hydrogen and ammonia.
The Japanese minister noted that his country and Australia will also cooperate to establish the supply chain for critical metals such as nickel. (AA)
