US nonfarm employment exceeds expectations

78 economists polled by Reuters expected nonfarm payrolls to rise by 170,000 in September.

The US Department of Labor announced that the unemployment rate in September remained stable at 3.8 percent, while last month it was announced that the unemployment rate was 3.8 percent.
Economists polled by Reuters had predicted the unemployment rate would fall to 3.7%.
Average hourly wages in the US were stable in September at 0.2% and were expected to increase 0.3%.
