Urban Transformation Directorate will be created

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki stated that they want to establish an Urban Transformation Directorate and said: “There will be 3 general directorates under the Directorate. “The first will only follow Istanbul, the second will follow Turkey and the third general directorate will also provide resources,” he said.

According to the Ministry’s statement, Özhaseki made assessments about the agenda in a television program he attended.

Stating that they will take measures to shorten the protracted urban transformation processes, Özhaseki emphasized that as a Ministry, they organized 15 meetings with the participation of metropolitan and 39 district municipalities to make decisions about the possible Istanbul earthquake and that they are working on what Can be done.

THE PROBLEMS IN URBAN TRANSFORMATION ARE NUMBERED

Özhaseki stated that they identified several problems that block the urban transformation process and continued as follows:

“One is that we made a majority decision of 2 out of 3, but then we asked for 100 percent consent when we planned and moved to the licensing stage. A great challenge. We want to reduce this to 50+1 percent. Then, based on this, we want to get the license and start working. The Notification Law is also an obstacle. We also want to facilitate the Notification Law. “We are shortening the process with applications such as e-government announcements, boss office announcements, home announcements and notifications.”

‘THE STATE HAS TREASURE LANDS’

Özhaseki stated that they will establish a directorate under which there will be 3 separate general directorates for urban transformation and said:

“We are trying to enact the Urban Transformation Law that covers all of Türkiye. We want to establish a presidency for this. There will be 3 general directorates under the Presidency. The first will follow only Istanbul, the second will follow Turkey and the third general direction will also create resources. The state has Treasury lands. These must be planned first. After planning, features need to be uploaded and made available to the public. When this is sold, the resource will arrive. “You will continue the urban transformation with the budget accumulated here.” (AA)
