Ağbaba explained that until recently, when he gave 200 lira to his daughter, he did not ask her for money for a week, but today, when he gave her 200 lira, he received the response “Are you kidding me?”, Ağbaba asked President Erkan. whether she will eliminate the zero from the Turkish lira and whether she will print new 500 and 1000 lira banknotes.

Erkan responded: “It is not on our agenda to remove the zeros from the currency or the 500 TL note.” In his speech, Erkan stated that inflation will continue to rise until next May and will not begin to fall until after June.

Explaining that they began to obtain positive results from the policies they implemented, reserves increased and the risk premium decreased, Erkan explained that the increase in fuel prices increased inflation by 6.31 points and will continue to increase it.

Erkan also stated that there is no quick and easy solution to reduce inflation and said he hopes for the support of public opinion, including parliamentarians. While the spokesperson of the MHP group, İsmail Faruk Aksu, gave a speech in support of President Erkan at the commission, it is noteworthy that the AKP group did not request to speak.
