Turkey’s foreign debt amounts to $475.8 billion
The Ministry of Treasury and Finance announced the stock of gross and net external debt, the stock of external debt guaranteed by the Treasury and the stock of net public debt and the data on the stock of debt of the general government defined by the European Union (EU) as of June 30, 2023.
Consequently, Turkey’s gross external debt volume amounted to $475.8 billion, while the ratio between the volume and national income was 46.5 percent.
On the same date, the balance of net external debt amounted to 267.7 billion dollars. The ratio between stock and national income was 26.2 percent.
NET PUBLIC DEBT STOCK 3.8 TRILLION TL
The volume of foreign debt guaranteed by the Treasury amounted to 15.5 billion dollars.
The volume of net public debt during this period amounted to 3 trillion 883 billion lira. The ratio between social capital and national income was determined at 20.2 percent.
The volume of general government debt defined by the EU is 6 trillion 530 billion lire, and the ratio between this figure and national income is estimated at 34 percent. (AA)
