According to the statement from the country’s energy regulator, the North Sea Transformation Authority (NSTA), approval has been given to the companies Equinor and Ithaca Energy for the development of the Rosebank oil field and the production of oil in the field.

The NSTA spokesperson, whose assessments were included in the statement, stated that companies can move forward with their projects following the approval of the Rosebank Field Development Plan, and stated that zero emissions targets will be taken into account throughout the development cycle. project life.

According to Equinor’s statement, the company has made a final investment decision with Ithaca Energy for the first phase of the Rosebank oil field development project, and an investment of $3.8 billion will be made in this area.

The Rosebank oil field is known as the largest untapped oil field in the country. A total of 245 million barrels of oil are expected to be produced within the first phase of the project.
