With the end of the ban on hunting at sea on September 1, fish stalls in Trabzon began to offer different types of fish.
At the stalls in the Moloz area, in the Ortahisar district, anchovies are sold at 50 lira per kilo, whiting and horse mackerel at 50-60 lira, shad at 75 lira, marlin at 125 lira, mullet at 100 lira and trout. at 125 liras per kilogram.
Fisherman Mehmet Can Örseloğlu said that starting September 1, the varieties of fish on the stalls increased day by day and reached 15.
ÖrseloÄŸlu stated that the prices of anchovies, horse mackerel and whiting are especially affordable: “There are a lot of fish on our stalls. “I recommend our citizens consume fish for health reasons,” he said.
ÖrseloÄŸlu stated that there are fewer acorns on the stalls than last year and added: “On the other hand, anchovy adorns our stalls this year. Last year there were acorns but no anchovies, this year there are anchovies but no acorns. “We hope to see more acorns in the stands in the coming days,” he said.
Fisherman Cem Yazıcı also stated that the price of anchovy has dropped to 50 lira.
Yazıcı noted that anchovy may drop to 35-40 lira per kilogram in the coming months and said that citizens showed interest in the fish because of the weekend. (AA)
