Another bridge would be built with the guarantee payment

Transition Guaranteed bridges and roads continue to consume wealth. CHP Zonguldak Deputy Deniz Yavuzyılmaz stated that in 2022 36 billion 359 million lira were paid to companies for construction, operation and transfer projects and that with this amount it is possible to build another Osmangazi Bridge. Arguing that the Court of Accounts reports prepared on the General Directorate of Highways were also censored, Yavuzyılmaz said: “The 2018 Court of Accounts report of the General Directorate of Highways has 199 pages. The 2021 report is 151 pages long. “The 2022 report is only 67 pages,” he said. Stating that according to the 2022 report of the General Directorate of Highways, the total amount paid by the AKP to companies for construction, operation and transfer model projects is 36 billion 359 million lira, Yavuzyılmaz said: “This Amount is the amount paid to these companies for the guaranteed number of vehicle tickets that could not be met. In 2021, this amount amounted to 14,255 million liras. From 2021 to 2022, the amount paid to these companies increased by 155 percent. “It was possible to build an Osmangazi Bridge for free in just one year, with the amount paid to these companies for the number of vehicle crossings that could not be reached in 2022,” he said. The cost of the Osmangazi Bridge, which cost $1.4 billion to build, is equivalent to 37 billion Turkish lira at the current exchange rate.

FOOD FOR 7 MILLION STUDENTS

Yavuzyılmaz pointed out that the same amount could provide a free meal to 7 million students for a year and said: “However, the AK Party continued to squeeze the throats of students and children and fill the coffers of companies. “In 2022, our citizens continued to become poorer and pay for the bridge they did not cross, the tunnel they did not enter, the airport they did not land at,” he said.

The claim that “the findings were removed from the report”

Sea Yavuzyılmaz criticized the Court of Auditors’ reports for 2022 prepared on the Presidency and the General Directorate of Highways. Yavuzyılmaz, who claimed that the Court of Auditors removed the conclusions of the reports, explained his statement as follows: “According to the 2022 report, the total amount of expenses of the Presidency reached 5.669 million lira. This amount amounted to 3.71 billion lira in 2021. The total expense items in 2021 were 42. “The number of these expense items decreased to 10 in the 2022 report.”
