Scholz complains about the length of bureaucratic procedures
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz complained about the long bureaucratic processes in his country and said he wanted to change this situation.
In his interview with the newspaper “Welt am Sonntag”, Scholz compared Germany economically to “a sailboat prepared for all storms.”
Prime Minister Scholz said: “It is clear that we are experiencing weak growth” and explained the economic problems and their reasons as follows:
“The main reason for this is the weakening of some of our export markets, especially China. This situation affects an exporting country like us. We are also facing high inflation and rising energy prices, which are a result of Russia’s attack on Ukraine. The temporary disruption to supply chains due to the Covid-19 outbreak remains noteworthy. “All this also caused a sudden increase in interest rates, and this especially affected the construction sector.” saying.
‘ENERGY PRICES ARE TOO HIGH’
Scholz stated that energy prices are still very high and should come down: “We are therefore accelerating the expansion of wind energy and solar energy. Now is the time to pick up the pace. In Germany many things take too long. Growth comes at a cost if planning and approval processes take many years. That is why I proposed the Pact with Germany. Aim; “Cities and municipalities, states, the federal government and even the democratic opposition must work together to make the processes move faster,” he said.
Referring to the importance of bringing in qualified labor from abroad, Scholz stated: “Our mechanical engineering, the automobile industry, the chemical industry and many other sectors of the economy will continue to be in demand because they are qualitatively strong. The precondition for this is that there are sufficient workers in Germany. “To achieve this, we have implemented the Qualified Immigration Law, through which we can attract talent at all levels, from engineers to skilled workers,” he said.
SPEED DETERMINES THE GROWTH OF THE GERMAN ECONOMY
Scholz complains about the long bureaucratic procedures in the country:
“It makes me very sad that some procedures in Germany take so long. As we have mentioned before, we are faced with a bureaucracy that we have created together, with great attention to detail, for decades and that now hinders us. You have to go now.
The speed of our management will determine how strongly the German economy will grow. I’m tired of spending more than a decade planning the construction of a new subway line. If it takes several years for a wind turbine to be approved, the energy transition will fail.
Our health system is one of the best in the world, but we have missed digitalization. We’re starting this now. We have just approved the first laws in this regard. We will do more to improve the location of pharmaceutical industry research. They need to be fixed. For decades, no one has dared to address this. Yes, now I am tired and I want to change this.”
Referring to the war between Russia and Ukraine in his interview, Scholz added that his country is the second country that provides the most financial, humanitarian and arms aid to Ukraine, after the United States, and that they guarantee that they will continue with this aid in the coming years. .
