Milk production decreased by 19.8 percent in July
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced milk and dairy production data for July 2023.
Consequently, the amount of cow’s milk collected by commercial dairies decreased by 0.9 percent in July compared to the same month a year earlier; In the period January-July 2023, it increased by 3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
While ayran production increased by 16.3 percent, cow cheese production by 16 percent, butter production by 16 percent and yogurt production by 14.4 percent in July compared to the same month of the previous year; The production of drinking milk decreased by 19.8 percent.
The amount of cow milk collected by commercial dairy enterprises, which was 866,632 tons in the previous month, decreased by 3.6 percent in July and reached 835,773 tons.
The production of drinking milk, which was 105,140 tons the previous month, decreased by 2.8 percent in July and reached 102,203 tons.
THE BIGGEST FALL IN THE FIRST 7 MONTHS IS IN BUTTER PRODUCTION
In the January-July period, compared to the same period of the previous year, cow cheese production increased by 9.4 percent, whey production increased by 7.5 percent, and yogurt production increased 2.3 percent; Butter production decreased by 11.8 percent and drinking milk production decreased by 1.4 percent.
